Work Permits
Note:  You must be hired for a job FIRST before you can get a work permit.  Each job requires a new work permit.

How to obtain a work permit, please bring the following with you:

  • Letter from Employer: The letter must state that you have been hired, and what your duties will be (examples, cashier, stock person, etc.).  It should include the name, address and phone number of the business, and be signed by a manager or supervisor.  Your parent should also write that you have permission to work there, and sign it as well. 

  • Proof of Identification.  This includes ONLY: a driver's license, green card, birth certificate, or baptismal certificate.

  • Social Security card: Original Social Security Card required.

  • Fee of $10.  This must be paid before receiving work permit.  Only cash will be accepted.  Your employer must reimburse you for the $10 fee on a paycheck.

Youth Go is open for work permit sales from 8:30 am-noon, and from 2-10 PM (3-8 PM Fridays) Monday-Thursday.  Occasionally, field trips, meetings, etc. may take our Youth Permit staff outside of the building, so you may wish to call first.
